This enemy poses little threat due to its low Vitality and HP. Player should not use Fire-elemental attacks because the Spriggan will convert it to HP. Best way to deal damage is by using sword attacks or Command Materia.

Etymology

Spriggans are legendary creatures known from Cornish faery lore. They were depicted as grotesquely ugly, and were said to be found at old ruins and barrows guarding buried treasure and generally acting as fairy bodyguards.
