Specter (スペクター, Supekutā?), also known as Spectre and Spector, is a recurring enemy in the series.

Final Fantasy[]
Specter is an enemy fought at the Cavern of Ice, fighting in a large group with other Specters, Wraiths, and Ghosts. Its regular attacks can inflict Paralysis, though they do not pose a large threat due to its low HP.
Final Fantasy II[]
Specter is an enemy fought at the Coliseum, Castle Fynn, Cave of Mysidia, and Mysidian Tower, and around Mysidia after obtaining the Ultima Tome. Its physical attack drains HP from its targets, and it may attempt to inflict Petrify on the party with Break VI.
Final Fantasy VI[]
Specter is an enemy fought at the Narshe Mines. It uses basic elemental spells and is otherwise not a threat to the party at all.

Final Fantasy XII[]
Specter is an enemy fought at the Barheim Passage when the lights are out. It attacks with basic elemental spells as well as the Dark and Blind spells.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
Specters are an ashkin family introduced with Stormblood. They are towering, bizarre-looking undead with black decayed skin, very long arms, and a demonic visage resembling a carved pumpkin. They are most common in the neglected catacombs outside Ala Mhigo.

Specter is an enemy fought at Alive Forest and Giant Tree. They are troublesome foes as, like most undeads, they can multiply themselves, and in addition, can attack with Confu-touch, Power Drain, and Coldness.
The Final Fantasy Legend[]
The Spector is a Tier 5 ghost that can be found while traversing the exterior loop of the Tower, and is a possible transformation for party monster units.
