Soul Shift (ダブルフェイズ, Daburu Feizu?, lit. Double Phase) is a recurring ability in the series. It is a Limit Break used by Cecil Harvey.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Dissidia Final Fantasy[edit | edit source]

Soul Shift is Cecil's EX Burst ability. The player must enter the commands that appear on the sides of the screen simultaneously. A perfect EX Burst needs three such commands and starts with Cecil striking his opponent before turning into a Dark Knight and throwing his sword down. He then performs Darkness, where he shoots orbs of darkness at his opponent and ends the EX Burst by reverting into a Paladin, slashing twice and forming a cross of light, dealing HP damage. Failing to enter the commands will have Cecil prematurely end the EX Burst with Darkness.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[edit | edit source]

Soul Shift is Cecil's EX Burst with its effects unchanged.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy[edit | edit source]

Soul Shift is a special limit break learned by Cecil at level 40. During Battle Music Sequences (BMS), damages boss-type enemies when they enter based on character's Strength and Magic. It requires 18 CP to equip.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call[edit | edit source]

Soul Shift is a reactive ability that costs 18 CP to equip. It is activated in Battle Music Sequences (BMS) when a boss-class enemy appears. It deals damage in direct proportion to Strength and Magic. It is learned by Cecil (level 40).
