Sonic Boom (ソニックブーム, Sonikku Būmu?) is a recurring ability, both used by enemies and party members. It usually reduces a target's or targets' HP by a certain percentage.

Another ability translated as "Sonic Boom" in English also exists in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Final Fantasy V[]

Sonic Boom is an ability exclusive to the Gaia command. It reduces an enemy's HP by 1/4 of its total HP, and can be used in plains, towers, the Void, Castle Exdeath, Pyramid of Moore, Interdimensional Rift, Ship Graveyard, and Library of the Ancients.

Final Fantasy VI[]

Sonic Boom is an ability in Mog's Dance command, and is usable after learning Earth Blues; Gau can also use Sonic Boom with the Satellite Rage. It reduces one enemy's HP by 5/8 of its max HP, inflicts sap and is unblockable, but fails on targets immune to death.

Final Fantasy X[]

Sonic Boom is an enemy ability used by Garuda and Zu. It inflicts major non-elemental damage to the entire party.
