Soldiers employ the arts of war to weaken and slow opponents.

Description

Soldier is a Job in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. It is the default Job of the humes, and the main Job of Luso. Soldiers use "breaks" to inflict statuses on enemies. A soldier is a basic tan with good Defense, power, and the best HP growth of any Hume class, benefiting Paladins.

The Soldier's abilities include First Aid, which recovers HP (but does not remove debuffs like it did in the first game), and Mug Gil, which harms the enemy and steals its gil. One Soldier A-ability is required to access the Thief and Archer Jobs while three A-abilities are required to access the Paladin and Fighter Jobs.

A notable Soldier NPC is the Komodo Trader (actually named Calvin, though he never says so himself), elder brother to Celestine (although she is reportedly much taller) and employee of Komodo Potions. He is cowardly and quick to panic and the player is required to defend him three times. He is also an opponent once when he and his companions trespass in Prima Donna's storehouse.
