Description
Soft is a recovery item item in Final Fantasy VII that cures Petrify and Slow-numb, statuses that turn party members to stone.

Softs are first available to buy in Costa del Sol where they are advertised as a local specialty.

Soft is a moderately useful item for preventing game overs, as the party is defeated if they are all petrified or KO'd. However, due to how rare Petrify and Slow-numb are, Soft is not needed often. In addition, the player may use the following to nullify need of Softs:
Softs may be useful on the Battle Square against enemies that inflict Slow-numb, as letting the timer expire will fail the player's gauntlet run.
There is a bug in Gargoyle's script that suggests it can be removed by using a Soft on it. However, Soft's effect will never trigger the Counter - General script, meaning this never works. This was likely intended as homage to Final Fantasy V where stone enemies could be defeated by using Softs on them.
