Small is a status in Final Fantasy VII. One afflicted with the Small status has their Attack Power reduced to 1, never doing more than 1 damage with physical attacks. Unlike most other statuses, Small is not removed if a character is KO'd, but it does not persist after battle. Small is the only status able to stick of a petrified unit. The enemy Hungry can eat a character in Small status, removing them from battle and flagging them as defeated. The healing item dedicated for removing Small is Cornucopia.

Use[]
Small is useful for reducing the amount of physical damage the enemy can do, but it does not affect their magic attacks, making it less useful than Frog. In addition, while fewer enemies are immune to Small compared to Frog, it is useless on all machine enemies and giant enemies, such as Dragons or Worms. Most fights can be ended relatively quickly without the need for Small, making the status not see much use.
