Skeletons, known as BONE in the NES version, are enemies that appear in the original Final Fantasy. They generally appear in packs with the same type of enemies or occasionally with other monsters; but they do not pose a threat to a beginner's party if the player has leveled up sufficiently. Since they are susceptible to Dia and Fire, casting one of the spells should finish them off easily.

Etymology

A skeleton is a type of physically manifested undead often found in fantasy, gothic and horror fiction, and mythical art. Most are human skeletons, but they can also be from any creature or race found on Earth or in the fantasy world.
