The ship has been dragged off-course by a mysterious force, and the men have begun to whisper of strange “things” in the water. Needless to say, you and your fellow adventurers will be having none of that. Once the ship reaches its unknown destination, you will go ashore and deal with whatever fiends you find.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Sirens are from Greek mythology. In the story of Odysseus, the Sirens are beautiful women who lure sailors with their voices. Odysseus escaped the Sirens by having all his sailors plug their ears with beeswax. He was curious as to what the Sirens sounded like, so he let himself be tied to the mast to ensure he could not fall victim to their voices.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This is the only dungeon to not have a defined region, with the introduction cinematic merely listing it as "???", though its musical theme is based on "On Westerly Winds," the theme of the region of La Noscea. In Encyclopedia Eorzea Volume 2, it is listed as Thavnairian geography, and the prison complex is said to have been constructed by the Radz-at-Han government.
  • This is one of the few multiplayer instances to have friendly NPCs fighting alongside players.
  • Despite the name and the dungeon it draws inspiration from, no sirens appear in the dungeon.
