Sigmascape V2.0, known by players as O6, is the second battle of the Raid Raid Omega: Sigmascape in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood.

Story[]

Normal[]

Chadarnook. According to Cid and Nero's research, such is the name given to your next devilish opponent. Had you not just won a battle against a spectral train, you might think the idea of a haunted painting absurd. Thankful for the inventive genius of your companions, you go forth armed with the Chocobo Brush—a tool specifically designed to help you overcome this bizarre encounter.

Description

Savage[]

The urge to flip switches is almost irresistible...even when you know full well the consequences for doing so. Once more your finger moves as if of its own accord, and activates the second phase of the Savage Initiative. As the gentle arrangement drifts from the terminal, you are transported to a remembered vista of the Sigmascape, each lapping wave of the song swelling the boundary of your memories...

Description

Progression[]

Normal[]

The main mechanic of this fight is the "paintbrush" mechanic you can use with the Duty action button, in the arena are 4 different sketches that you can paint on to survive the bosses abilities. The Demon Chadarnook is the only one that you can attack while the Goddess Chadarnook hits the off tank with auto attacks.

  • Demonic Howl- Raid wide AoE damage
  • Demonic Shear- Hard hitting tank buster
  • Flash Gale- Stack with other players to share the damage
  • Demonic Pain- Players will be tethered to the boss, go a certain distance away till the tethers turn purple to be safe.

During the fight Chadarnook will cast Possession and tether to any of the four paintings, the sketches in front of the paintings are the abilities you need to use to survive the Demon's mechanics.

  • Flash Fire- Takes possession of the fire painting, use the water fall sketch to get fire resist.
  • Earthquake- Takes possession of the rock painting, will damage any player on the ground, use the Air Force sketch to go in the air to avoid.
  • Demonic Wave- Takes possession of the water painting, and creates a large AoE that needs to be blocked with the rock sketch.
  • Easterly- Takes possession of the wind painting, a player needs to use the typhon sketch and blow the Easterly's away.

Further on into the fight, Chadarnook will begin possessing more than one painting at a time. He will also target players with an AoE marker that will chase them.

Savage[]

This version of the fight is a little different, each sketch will now require a specific paint color to activate and there is a new painting in the middle that needs to be activated by all 4 colors. In the fight the Goddess also possess paintings bringing in new mechanics players have to deal with.

  • Storms Grip- The Goddess possesses the wind painting, this will show up in the arena as a stack marker that needs to be shared by the party or a tank can use their invulnerability to take it themselves.
  • Poltergeist- A reaper add tethers to a healer, and moves to them if it isn't looked at.
  • Divine Lure- The Goddess will cast this, look away to avoid getting hysteria.
  • Demonic Pain- different from the normal version, players will be tethered to each other. Wait till it turns purple to be safe.
  • Last Kiss- A player will be marked with a red marker, give it to the Off tank and keep it away from the party. The tank also needs to use a cooldown to survive.
  • Lullaby- Goddess will cast this and drain everyones MP and TP, the middle sketch needs to be painted by the four colors to remove the debuff.
  • Demonic Spout- players will have AoE's appear under them, and another player will be marked with Flash Gale this ability goes off twice.

The Goddess will also posses the earth painting that will give players AoE markers under them, and also the water painting, which will create a large attack that covers most of the arena, best spot to be is near the Rock painting.

  • Cid wishes to discuss your next opponent.
  • After Cid describes the nature of your next opponent, Nero presents you with a new invention designed to aid in its defeat─the Chocobo Brush. Though he leaves you none the wiser about how it actually works, you gather that the brush will allow you to directly influence the world in which you find yourself. Speak with the waiting Alpha to begin the next stage of Omega's experiment. ※In the event that you leave the Interdimensional Rift, you may re-enter by speaking with the Ironworks hand at the Yawn.
  • Alpha stands ready to enter the Sigmascape with you. Keep a tight grip on the Chocobo Brush, and prepare to battle the haunting Chadarnook! ※Sigmascape V2.0 can be accessed via the Duty Finder.
  • You have defeated the possessed painting. Return to the Interdimensional Rift and speak with Cid.
  • You recount your victory to your waiting companions, and Nero appears particularly pleased with the efficacy of his invention. He is in the midst of warning you about the brush's decidedly limited range of alternative applications when Cid receives a linkpearl communication from Jessie. It seems that Biggs and Wedge have slipped away from their sickbeds, intent on returning to the Yawn...
  • Outside the rift once more, you meet with an anxious Biggs and Wedge. Cid reassures them that, despite some minor difficulties, you have managed to overcome each of Omega's challenges thus far. the two engineers duly pledge their unswerving support, and you cannot help but feel buoyed by their infectious enthusiasm.

Behind the scenes[]

This area has allusions to Final Fantasy VI. Occasionally in the hallways minion versions of Relm Arrowny and an imp chasing a wind-up Ultros. Outside the arena are paintings that resemble paintings from Owzer's Mansion from Final Fantasy VI. One of the paintings is of Gestahl (the minion) alluding to Owzer's painting of Emperor Gestahl, which hid the directions to the Phoenix Cave.

Musical themes[]

"A Battle Decisively", an arrangement of "The Decisive Battle" from Final Fantasy VI, plays while fighting Chadarnook.
