Sieghard is an optional playable character in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. He has two variants: "Veritas of the Earth", based on his appearance during Season One, and the simply-named "Sieghard", where he discards his armor. In both variants, his skillset focuses on protecting the party from physical attacks, both by provoking the enemy or by covering his allies. His weapon of choice is the shield, and he is closely related to the Earth element. He is also able to cast some Black Magic.

Veritas of the Earth

Veritas of the Earth (王土のヴェリアス, Ōdo no Veriasu?) is a 4-6★ Rare Summon, available for summoning since the event Time for Revenge (which originally ran in August 2017 in the Global version). His job is listed as Veritas, and his role is Tanking. His Trust Master reward is Sworn Six's Pride - Earth, a passive ability that provides additional ATK and DEF (both +40%) when equipping a heavy shield or heavy armor, respectively.

Veritas of the Earth's abilities mitigate damage to himself or the party. He is a reliable tank who can protect the whole party, or greatly increase his own defenses while making himself the target of attacks. Guard Smite and Steel Body enhance his ability to take on damage, while Defensive Barrier and Guardian provide lesser buffs but allow him to protect the whole party. He can increase resistance to Earth damage and do Stat Breaks. He is somewhat unusual in that he can deal damage and perform Tank duties at the same time, best exemplified by Incinerating Press, which deals damage and increases the chances of being targeted by attacks.

His passives improve his defensive abilities by boosting HP, DEF, SPR and bestowing him with incredible defensive buffs when weakened. He can counter attacks making him a solid LB burst stone engine.

His awakening materials are the following:

Stats

Veritas of the Earth's stats at his highest levels are as follows (with no passive abilities taken into account), along with the maximum amount of stat points that can be increased through pot-enhancements:

Abilities

Depending on his rarity, Veritas of the Earth has either three (4★) or four (5-6★) ability slots. He has affinity to Black Magic (Lvl 5-7).

While he has no innate elemental or status resistances, his passive trait "Earthlord" allows him to absorb all types of Earth-elemental damage (though, if he is equipped with Earth-resistant equipment, it will reduce the amount of HP recovered by this skill). "Unrestrained" nullifies Paralyze.

Limit Burst

Demon Wall (デモンズウォール, Demonzu Wōru?) is Veritas of the Earth's Limit Burst and support/damage-type ability. It inflicts partially-unmitigated damage to all enemies, ignoring their DEF by 50%, while granting the party with significant damage mitigation, reducing enemy physical/magic damage for one turn. Depending on its rarity, it deals either two (4★), four (5★) or six (6★) hits.

Its damage modifier and the mitigation amount will depend on Veritas of the Earth's LB level:

Rarity Name Change in Effect Cost

Sieghard

Sieghard (ジークハルト, Jīkuharuto?) is a 5-7★ Rare Summon, available for summoning since the event Sieghard, the Magnificent (which originally ran in December 2018 in the Global version). His job is listed as Sworn Eight, and his roles are Tank, Support, and Physical Damage. He has no innate element or status ailment resistances. His Trust Master reward is the passive Hero's Vow - Earth, which increases the equipped unit's HP by 30% and DEF/SPR by 20%, its LB gauge fill rate by 50% and earth resistance by +30%. His Super Trust Master reward is the Attractive Shield (DEF+85, HP+30%), a heavy shield that raises the wielder's resistance to Earth (+80%).

Like his Veritas variant, Sieghard is a tank although he can now damage opponents with abilities scaling off his DEF stat. Sieghard is a massive upgrade from his armored variant, having large pools of HP, DEF and SPR that rival (and even exceed) many 5★ base tanks. He comes with a peculiar gimmick: most of his abilities can inflict Charm (essentially a gag on his handsome appearance), which can be put to further defensive use by preventing enemies from attacking, although later trial enemies are immune to it.

During most of his growth, Sieghard is simply as a Physical Tank by both provoking actively or passively, or by covering his allies. Upon reaching his 7★ rarity, Sieghard can also function as a Magic Tank; this trait, though, is not fully exploitable since it is behind a cooldown ability with low turn duration, but it allows him mostly to serve as an emergency Magic Tank or for enemy thresholds. He also has offensive breaks and damage mitigation for himself and the party. All these traits make Sieghard one of the best tanks in the game.

His awakening materials are the following:

Limit Burst

Beauteous Sanctuary (ビューティアスサンクチュアリ, Byūtiasu Sankuchuari?) is Sieghard's Limit Burst. As one of the so-called 'CG units', Sieghard's Limit Burst is a powerful ability preceded by a FMV-like movie that lasts about 0:09 seconds. He utters the phrase "utsukushiku chire..." (美しく 散れ...?, "Beautifully scattered...").

In the sequence, rose petals are carried by the wind as the camera focuses on Sieghard's skull-like headpiece. It then focuses on his face, as he holds a rose, and he activates his shield. As it deassembles, Sieghard uses his whip to attack; the pieces of his shield then thrust themselves into the ground, which is full of rose petals, and emerge as a wave of fences that advance towards the enemy.

The effect is a 3-hit attack which scales off Sieghard's DEF stat and which deals physical damage to all enemies, and at the same time mitigates the damage taken by the party for three turns.

Its damage modifier and its mitigation amount will depend on Sieghard's LB level:

Rarity Name Change in Effect Cost
5★ Beauteous Sanctuary Base (Lv. 1) Damage dealt (6x); mitigates by 25% 20 FFBE Limit Burst crystal
Max (Lv. 20) Damage dealt (7.9x); mitigates by 34%
6★ Beauteous Sanctuary Base (Lv. 1) Damage dealt (8x); mitigates by 30% 24 FFBE Limit Burst crystal
Max (Lv. 25) Damage dealt (10.4x); mitigates by 42%
7★ Beauteous Sanctuary Base (Lv. 1) Damage dealt (14x); mitigates by 30% 30 FFBE Limit Burst crystal
Max (Lv. 30) Damage dealt (16.9x); mitigates by 45%

Equipment

FFBE Unknown Heavy Shield 2

Attractive Shield

Sieghard can equip the following weapon types: daggers, swords, staves, axes and whips.

He can equip the following armor types: light shields, heavy shields, hats, helms, clothes, light armor and heavy armor.

He can equip accessories.

Equipping his Trust Master reward (the passive Hero's Vow - Earth ability), or his Super Trust Master reward (the Attractive Shield) will trigger his Trust ability "Man of Many Rivals". It increases his DEF and HP by 30%, gives him a 50% chance to ignore fatal damage when his HP is above 5% (once per battle), and boosts his DEF and SPR by 200% when his HP drops below 1% in battle.
