Sicard Spence is a non-player character in Final Fantasy XIV. He is the acting captain of the Bloody Executioners, one of Limsa Lominsa's three great pirate powers, succeeding Hyllfyr Faezmoensyn.
History[]
Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers[]
Sicard vehemently opposed Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn's efforts to end the nation's conflict with the kobolds and Sahagin. When G'raha Tia was attempting to gain information from a Suspicious Merchant and spoke with Alphinaud Leveilleur and the Warrior of Light who convinced him to meet with the Admiral of Limsa Lominsa.[2] Later, Sicard spoke with the Admiral who demanded he stop pillaging the Beast Tribes but Sicard refused claiming that theirs was a nation of pirates.[3] She told him piracy was no more, but Sicard posited that piracy was all he and his crew knew. He challenged the Admiral to a duel, lost, and conceded defeat after being reprimanded by his Captain Hyllfyr Faezmoensyn.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker[]
Sicard joined the Ilsabard Contingency as the representative of Limsa Lominsa and journeyed to Garlemald. He met Emmanellain de Fortemps whom he became rivals/friends with. The two would often bicker but ultimately worked together. Sicard accompanied Emmanellain to Sharlayan to assist and witness the starship Ragnarok's launch.
After the Final Days have been averted, Sicard traveled to the Warrior of Light's Island Sanctuary with Honoroit and Emmanellain.[4] The three changed into "island" outfits. Emmanellain accompanied Sicard on his tour of the island and two bickered, but more amicably then previously. The two shared a deep discussion about living up to others expectations. The three left and Sicard praised the Warrior of Lights work on the island.
Characteristics[]
Appearance[]
Sicard is a Mid-Lander Hyur with tan skin, teal hair and hazel eyes. He is typically in traditional Pirate garb though is also seen in Limsa Lominsa Uniform and in a Tropical swimsuit.
Personality[]
Sicard speaks with a stereotypical pirate vernacular and mannerisms. Though proven to be an effective, clever and cunning leader, Sicard is prideful in regards to being a pirate, but respects the law and agrees to meet with the Admiral, showing his wiliness to compromise. He at initially believes that being a pirate is all he will ever be, as he states its all he knows, but is persuaded otherwise after a harsh but empathetic reprimand from his captain. He is generous and cares for others, treating his crew fairly, joining the Ilsabard Contingency and assisting the Garleans when others would not.
Sicard dislikes the Upper Class, belittling those of nobility as spoiled and soft. As he strives to prove his worth and the worth of his crew to others, Sicard is a hard working and is willing to take initiative. Despite this, he has become close with Emmanellain, forming a rivalry/friendship with him though they obviously bicker with each other.
