Shuriken FFIII Art

Concept art from Final Fantasy III.

Shuriken (手裏剣, Shuriken?), also known as Stars, are throwing weapons that appear in the Final Fantasy series. They can usually be thrown by Ninjas.

Profile[]

Literally meaning "sword hidden in the hand" in Japanese, shuriken fit their use perfectly as edged throwing weapons, being the second hand arms of the stealthy and quick Ninja class.

Shuriken vary from game to game, from being disposable items solely used in combat, to large indispensable wielded weapons. Item variations of shuriken take on the more popular fiction design of star shaped Hira-shuriken, while weapon variations can range from more stylized and elaborate traditional based designs to even objects such as fans, pinwheels, and origami.
