Final Fantasy VI description
Shuriken (しゅりけん, Shuriken?), also known as Ninja, are throwing recurring weapons that appear in the Final Fantasy series. They can usually be thrown by Ninjas. A common upgrade to the Shuriken is the Fuma Shuriken.

Final Fantasy III
Template:Sideicon The Ninja job can equip Shuriken in the NES version and can only be thrown in the 3D remake. It has an attack power of 200 and can be bought for 65,500 gil in Eureka.
Final Fantasy IV
Template:Sideicon The Shuriken can be thrown by Edge. It has an attack power of 40 and bought at the Lunar Ruins, Feymarch, Tomra, Kokkol's Forge, Cave of Eblan for 20,000 gil.
On the Easy Type version, its attack power was increased to 60.
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-
Template:Sideicon The Shuriken returns for the sequel title to Final Fantasy IV, possessing an attack power of 60. This time around, it can only be found inside treasure chest.

Etymology
shuriken is a traditional Japanese concealed weapon that was generally used for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing.
AIt has also been known as the Ninja. ninja was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan who specialized in unorthodox warfare. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations.
