Shotgun (スパス, Supasu?, lit. SPAS), also known as SPAS, is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series.

Shotgun is the second weapon available for Vincent, providing 48 Attack, 112 Atk%, 12 Magic, and two linked Materia slots with normal growth. It can be bought for 3,100 gil at Rocket Town, and is one of the few weapons that can be permanently missed.

Etymology

[view · edit · purge]A shotgun is a firearm that is usually designed to be fired from the shoulder, which uses the energy of a fixed shell to fire a number of small spherical pellets called shot, or a solid projectile called a slug.

Its appearance and alternative name SPAS is based on the real-life Franchi SPAS-12[1], which is a 12-gauge Italian shotgun known to be usable both in semi-automatic and pump-action modes.
