Shinra Technologies was a Square Enix subsidiary. It was a cloud gaming company founded in 2014.

The company was named after the Shinra Electric Power Company from Final Fantasy VII, being led by former Square Enix president Yoichi Wada. Their headquarters was located in New York City, and began beta-testing its cloud gaming services in early 2015.

On January 6, 2016, Square Enix decided to dissolve the subsidiary reporting an "extraordinary loss" of 2 billion yen. According to Square Enix, the subsidiary had been trying to raise funds from third party investors, but no prospective investors were found.[1]
