A number of fields are located in the Shinra No. 26[note 1] in Final Fantasy VII. While the hallway was first visited in "A Sleeping Village Dreaming of Outer Space", the rocket becomes the main setting of the quest "Toward the Sea of Stars". Namely, the party travels there to obtain Huge Materia.

The Materia Room is the location where Huge Materia are obtained by entering the correct code. Cid will give hints as Cloud attempts to crack the code. If the player takes note of the hints the code can be solved before the timer expires. The actual code is:

Switch B X A A

Quests[]

HugeMateriaContainer-ffvii-field

Field model for the Huge Materia container.

Cid is first met inside the rocket in "A Sleeping Village Dreaming of Outer Space", but the rest of the rocket is not explored proper.

The rocket is the main setting of "Toward the Sea of Stars". After a few battles in the rocket, the player obtains Huge Materia by entering the correct code in the Materia Room.

The Huge Materia earned from the Shinra No. 26 depends on previous Huge Materia earned in "Struggle for the Huge Materia". If the player failed any previous missions, the missed Huge Materia will be earned here, but the player can earn only one. If the player missed no Materia, the Nibel Reactor Materia (blue, not obtainable from previous quest) is obtained here. The order of priority in terms of missed Materia is Corel Reactor (green), Fort Condor Reactor (yellow), then Underwater Reactor (red):

  • If the player obtains the green Corel Reactor Huge Materia here, they will be able to synthesize Master Magic from it. If the player missed the Corel Reactor Materia by way of failing to catch up with the Coal Train, completing this mission will allow the player to obtain the Ultima Materia.
  • If the player obtains the yellow Fort Condor Reactor Huge Materia here, they will be able to synthesize Master Command from it.
  • If the player obtains the red Underwater Reactor Huge Materia here, they will be able to synthesize Master Summon from it.
  • If the player obtains the blue Nibel Reactor Huge Materia here, Bahamut ZERO will not become available at Bone Village after "Mako Cannon Rampage", but they will be able to obtain Bahamut ZERO from the Huge Materia should they have Bahamut and Neo Bahamut in their inventory. Since obtaining the blue Materia grants no other utility, the player is better off missing it if they missed one of the Bahamut Materia.

Notes[]

Annotations[]

  1. The rocket is named as such in Final Fantasy VII.[1] However, the fields on the menu are not named after the rocket, but rather the area within the rocket, e.g. "Engine Room", "Materia Room", "Cockpit".
