A Tarutaru doctor and former minister of the Windurst Orastery who possesses extraordinary talent in black magic. With a superiority complex and a short fuse, she is known as the "the last woman you'd want to run into" for the irrational demands she has made to countless travelers. While shunned by most, she is considered a hero in her homeland.
Description
Shantotto is a playable character in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia who can be recruited at the end of Chapter 6 of the main storyline.
Characteristics[]
Appearance[]
Shantotto wears a robe with dark deep green and grayish cream stripes, gold linings, and two gauntlets, known as the "Tactician Magician's Cloak Set" in Final Fantasy XI.
Her first alternate costume, Ministerial Vestiture, is an updated version of her "Black Cloak" EX Mode attire from Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, and Apururu's attire from Final Fantasy XI.
Her second alternate costume is Cobra Unit Robe, an armor from Final Fantasy XI and her default EX Mode attire in Dissidia Final Fantasy.
Personality[]
Haughty and arrogant as ever, Shantotto has no qualms about boasting of her own skill, and tends to view others as far below her. Still, her wisdom proves unmatched on multiple occasions. With her memory presumed intact as of Act 4, Shantotto is shown to be of a one-track mind when pursuing a goal, to the point that she can be sadistic and without a care for the consequences of such aggressive zeal.
She maintains her propensity for speaking in rhythmic verse.
Story[]
Shantotto first appears in the Domina Wastelands. She declines to join the party straight away as she finds the new world and its Torsions a fascinating study of research. However, she does accompany them through several areas and observes as they fight monsters and close local torsions.
When Kuja and Sephiroth appear in the Wastelands, Shantotto decides to investigate their activities instead. The party later encounters her with Kuja as he opens a Torsion, causing them to question her loyalties and intentions. However, at the end of the journey through the wastelands, Shantotto's activities have allowed her to discover that Mog has deliberately concealed the truth from his "warriors of Light." She reveals that the "Light" he refers to is not simply the ability to close Torsions, but to open them as well. Although she clarifies that this power is not inherently threatening, as one must choose to use it, it is still a disturbing revelation to the others.
Having discovered this truth, Shantotto officially joins the party and begins to aid them in battle.
