Appearances[edit | edit source]
Final Fantasy IV[edit | edit source]
Pins target and temporarily prevents it from performing any actions.
Description
Shadowbind (Pin in pre-3D versions, and Needles in the J2e translation) is a Ninjutsu spell usable by Edge that inflicts Paralyze on one target. It has a casting time of 0, costs 5 MP in all versions but the 3D remake, where it costs 15 MP instead.
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-[edit | edit source]
Shadowbind is a Ninjutsu spell known initially by Edge. It stops the enemy from attacking for a set amount of time at the cost of 5 MP.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[edit | edit source]
Shadow Bind is a Ninjutsu ability, learned by Edge (level 25) and Zangetsu (level 20). It stops the enemy from attacking for a time. It costs 5 MP to cast.
Final Fantasy XI[edit | edit source]
Shadowbind is a job ability of Rangers that ability becomes available at level 40. It allows the Ranger to Bind an opponent, stopping him in place for a short period of time. With the exception of some Notorious monsters that are immune to Bind, this status cannot be resisted. This status cannot be removed with Erase.
The Hunter's Bracers increase the duration of the Bind effect.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings[edit | edit source]
Shadowbind is used by Archers. It inflicts Immobilize.
Final Fantasy XIII-2[edit | edit source]
Shadowbind is an enemy ability usable by Metallicactuars. When used, the Metallicactuar will launch the victim into the air and freeze it there. There is no cure for Shadowbind.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII[edit | edit source]
Shadowbind is a special skill found on the Soldier of Peace garb. It has a strength multiplier of 3.0 and no potential to combo. It consumes 150 of Lightning's ATB gauge and also inflicts Daze on the target. It can be assumed that it is supposed to complement Soldier of Peace's other locked ability, Artemis's Arrows, as enemies under Daze suffer twice the normal damage and are unable to avoid incoming attacks. However, it is simply more viable to repeatedly use Artemis's Arrows if pure damage is the desired result, as the Daze effect only has a base duration of 3 seconds making the attack rather redundant while also reducing the customization potential of the garb.
Final Fantasy XIV[edit | edit source]
Delivers a ranged attack. Chance to inflict Bind.
Description
Shadowbind is available to the Archer Discipline.

Final Fantasy Tactics[edit | edit source]
Shadowbind is an ability of the Assassin job, exclusive to enemies, which inflicts Stop on a target up to 4 spaces away, and has a 100% hit rate.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance[edit | edit source]
Stops target by pinning shadow to the ground.
Description
Shadowbind is an ability that can be learned by Assassins. It is learned from the Fey Bow and requires 200 AP to master. It costs 12 MP to cast. It can only hit units on surrounding tiles and causes the stop effect.
There is also a Lunge Tech by the name of Shadowstick, which causes Slow. It is taught by the Silver Rapier and is mastered after 200 AP.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[edit | edit source]
Shadowbind is an Assassin ability, and is learned from the Elfin Bow for 350 AP, and costs 12 MP to cast. It inflicts Stop on a single target.
Final Fantasy Dimensions[edit | edit source]
