Shadow Creeper

A Shadow Creeper.

Shadow Creepers (シャドウクリーパー, Shadō Kurīpā?), sometimes written as "Shadowcreepers," are monsters created from tainted Lifestream that appear in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. They use their claws and teeth to attack and can be summoned by Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo, the remnants of Sephiroth.

Story[]

The remnants of Sephiroth first summon Shadow Creepers to pursue Cloud Strife in the Midgar Wasteland. They next call upon these monsters in Edge prior to the summoning of Bahamut SIN.

Behind the scenes[]

The Shadow Creepers were designed by Takayuki Takeya. They were originally intended to rise from the ground chained to Loz and Yazoo as the two remnants of Sephiroth chased Cloud, but this idea was scrapped. While Takeya first envisioned the Shadow Creepers as having dog skulls for heads, their final design features a skull that is rodent-like in appearance.

Takeya revealed the Shadow Creepers have a "hidden power": even if they lose a limb or are decapitated, they will continue to chase their target.
