Very well. I will give you your death. You seem to want it so.

Seymour

The second battle with Seymour occurs after the two separated groups escape the Via Purifico and reunite at the Highbridge. Seymour heads them off, accompanied by several Guado Guards and Maester Wen Kinoc. Along the way, Seymour kills Kinoc and presents his body to the party with a twisted explanation of how he "saved" him. Kimahri valiantly fends Seymour off so the rest can escape, but Tidus and Yuna cannot leave their comrade behind and run back to the battle.

Strategy

Seymour absorbs the bodies of Kinoc and his Guardians and transforms into Seymour Natus, with a mechanical, hovering creature called Mortibody to assist him. Tidus, Yuna and Auron can speak to Seymour at the start of the battle to raise their Strength or Magic Defense.

Seymour will doublecast each of the second-level spells at the party. The Nul spells are less effective this time as before Seymour's turn, Mortibody will cast the same spell on each character, using up the Nul effect. Reflect is a better alternative, although Mortibody will regularly use Desperado, which cancels all positive statuses.

When his HP drops past 24,000, Seymour will Protect himself and start using Break on one character. Mortibody will then attack with Shattering Claw, and if the Break status is still active, they will shatter and the active party will be down to two members. Below 12,000 HP, Seymour will begin casting Flare, inflicting as much as 2,500 damage to one character. At this stage Mortibody will start casting Cura on Seymour which can be Reflected back to the player party.

Mortibody can also be used as a way to damage Seymour. Having only 4,000 HP to begin with, if Mortibody is KO'd, he will regenerate by absorbing HP from Seymour; first 4,000, then 3, 2 and finally 1,000 HP each time after that. This can be exploited further by casting Bio on Seymour, causing further damage.

Seymour will immediately Banish any Aeon summoned after their initial turn, but an Overdrive on that single action can inflict massive damage.
