Serpentess is an enemy in Final Fantasy XV fought in the Costlemark Tower maze where the player can't use items.

- Variant of the naga acclimated to the cruel corridors of Costlemark Tower. She may sport a separate shade from her serpentine sister, but her true colors are the same, and she does not accept defeat in stride.

Battle[]
Serpentess uses physical attacks and is weak to greatswords, daggers and light. It is a snake with a woman's head, and because of its shape and tendency to constantly slither about, positioning to deal blindside-strikes on it is difficult. The attack where it slams down its head upon the player can be blocked and parried. It spits green liquid and may inflict Toad upon the party. The player can target its head and the tip of its tail. It can burrow into the floor and become untargetable and then jump out from under the party to deal damage. When it doesn't slither about, it will slam those in its range with its tail, knocking them back.
Strategy[]
The player can use the Ring of the Lucii and the Magitek Exosuit during the Costlemark Menace Dungeon to minimize the challenge. As using items is not possible here, the player will need to heal by camping, automatic health regeneration between battles, Ignis's Regroup Technique and Healcast effect spells. As lightning is the only elemancy element that works against the serpentess, the player can use some lightning Healcast spells in this battle to heal. There are also some structures in the battlefield the player can crouch behind to regenerate health.
The player can protect against the Toad status with food buffs and accessories (and the Magitek Exosuit), but as toaded characters also can't be killed, protecting against the status may not be the priority in this dungeon and the player can simply ride it out.
The serpentess is weak to daggers, and using daggers also charges the Armiger gauge fast so the player should use it as soon as it becomes available to clear the battles faster without taking too much damage.
