An early prototype of the autonomous sentry gun weapons platform. When an intruder is detected, the platform opens with a rotary cannon. As it is a test model, the rate of fire is fairly low.
Enemy Intel
Sentry Gun Prototype is a mechanical enemy in Final Fantasy VII Remake fought in the Sector 4 Plate Section H and the first sun lamp. They are stationary and best dispatched by using lightning magic on them.
Sentry Gun Prototype (Defense) is also an immobile unit in the Fort Condor minigame in "Episode INTERmission" that attacks grounded opponents.

Battle[]
The Sentry Gun Prototype is a stationary enemy focused on machine gun type of attacks. The player cannot interrupt the Sentry Gun Prototype once it starts firing. Much like the vast majority of mechanical enemies, the Sentry Gun Prototype is weak against Lightning. Being a stationary enemy, the Laser Cannon cannot be knocked down in any way, and it resists Wind.
Hard Mode[]
On the hard difficulty, the Sentry Gun Prototype will use Haywire more often.
Strategy[]
Barret's normal attacks are the best way to interrupt to deal with the Sentry Gun Prototype, as well using Thunder.
