Concept artwork for Final Fantasy V.
The Sekhret (セクレト, Sekureto?), also known as the Sacred, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy VIII. It typically appears as a stronger version of the Minotaur, with the two sometimes forming a recurring pair of bosses or summoned monsters known as the Brothers.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy[]

The Sekhret appears as an enemy exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and Anniversary releases, encountered within the deepest levels of the Whisperwind Cove. In the Anniversary version, the Sekhret can also be encountered in the Labyrinth of Time. It is a dangerous enemy with extremely powerful physical attacks.
Final Fantasy V[]

While the Sekhret doesn't appear, the similarly named Sekhmet (セクメト, Sekumeto?) appears as a boss encountered in the Pyramid of Moore, and is the brother of the Minotaur.
Final Fantasy VIII[]

Sacred appears as one half the Brothers, along with his brother Minotaur. They are encountered in the Tomb of the Unknown King. When the party defeats the lone Sacred, he flees deeper into the dungeon, joining with Minotaur. Defeating both Brothers sees them join the party as a earth-elemental Guardian Force.
Final Fantasy XVI[]

The Sekhret appears as a B-rank notorious mark encountered in the Greensheaves region of Rosaria. The hunt is unlocked after completing the main scenario quest "After the Storm."
Final Fantasy Tactics[]

The Sekhret appears as the strongest member of the minotaur family of enemies.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia[]

Sacred from Final Fantasy VIII, localized as Sekhret, appears alongside Minotaur as both a boss and part the Brothers summon.
Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]

Sacred from Final Fantasy VIII appears as a boss.
Mobius Final Fantasy[]

The Sekhret appears alongside the Minotaur in the Brothers ability card. Unlike the Minotaur, however, the Sekhret does not feature in its own individual card.
Etymology[]
Sekhret may be a portmanteau between "Sekhmet" and "secret" or "sacred". Sekhmet was a blood-thirsty goddess with the head of a lion and the body of a woman in Upper Egypt.
