The Security Officer (警備兵, Keibihei? or 警備員, Keibīn?, lit. Security Guard), also known as the MP, Sentry, Guard, or Security, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy VII. It is similar in role to the recurring Guard, being a generally weak human enemy encountered early in the game.

Final Fantasy VII[]
The MP appears as an enemy encountered in No. 1 Reactor during "No. 1 Reactor Bombing". It is the first enemy encountered, and can be defeated with a single blow.
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-[]
The Sentry appears as an enemy fought at the very beginning of the game as well as during the very first mission of the game. It is the weakest enemy in the game and provides no challenge to the player.
Final Fantasy VII Remake[]
The Security Officer appears as an enemy encountered in Mako Reactor 1, Sector 8, and the Sector 7 Slums. They are the first enemies fought in the game, and are the most basic type of Shinra infantry. The Security Officer also appears as a vanguard unit in Fort Condor in "Episode INTERmission" as one of the basic vanguard units.

Mobius Final Fantasy[]
Security: Ashura Squad
The MP from Final Fantasy VII appeared as a group of enemies using the name "Security" and divided into squads during the Eclipse Contact event (eg. Security: Ashura Squad). During the original event in February 2017, the Nekomata, Titan, Deathgaze, Ashura, Ixion, Mateus, and Ramuh Squads appeared, while subsequent reruns of the event ("Eclipse Contact Returns") instead featured the Dadaluma, Kurohabaki, Mermaid, Manticore, Ghost Ship, Evil Eye, and Acheron Squads. The Medical Team is a unique squad that appeared in all versions of the event.
The various squads could also be obtained as ability cards.
