Using his machine gun, the Security Officer shoots at a long-range distance for approximately 1 second. When the player is near, the Security Officer slowly backs off before shooting to put some distance. With his Burst Fire ability, the Security Officer rapid-fires with more bullets for approximately 2 seconds. He uses the Grenade ability, which lets him throw a grenade nearby to damage party members. Lastly, the Security Officer can also close the distance by kicking the player or hitting them with their gun.
Much like the vast majority of human-type enemies, the Security Officer is weak against Fire. Being the first enemy the player will encounter, he doesn't pose much of a threat, although he can be dangerous in large numbers, especially if firing at the player in succession.
As the Security Officer is easily interrupted, it is best to attack immediately and continuously to prevent him from dealing damage. Blocking is recommended against the Security Officer's rapid-fire gun attacks and Burst Fire ability.
