Sector 0 is located at the very center of Midgar. It is the location of the main pillar holding up Midgar, the Corkscrew Tunnel trains that provide a path up and down the plate, and Mako Reactor 0 located in the middle beneath the plate, providing power to the city.[1] Sitting atop the plate is the Shinra Building that dominates the sector. Underground, Deepground is located around the sector.

Topside, Sector 0 is contained within a wall. Around and within it are a network of highway bridges that lead to the Shinra Building. Within are immense bright floodlights are found around the sector atop the plate, highlighting the company's wasteful use of electricity,[2] along with immense pipes seemingly connected to Mako Reactor 0, metal walkways, and offshoot tower-like structures around the main building.

Shinra Bldg.[]

The Shinra Building is both the headquarters of the Shinra Electric Power Company and the seat of the government for the city. The building is surrounded by a large wall around its perimeter, with an empty moat from the wall towards the circular plate on which the building stands. The building towers over the rest of the city, as its tallest building by far.
