The Scorpion is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI.

Battle[edit | edit source]

It has no real weakness and has high Magic Defense. They usually attack in trios. Its special attack, Lethal Sting, inflicts Doom, making Celes have to deal with two timers. However, given the timers and the time it takes to defeat the Scorpions, it may be better to simply flee to save time and HP.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Casting Blizzara and Thundara is the best option to dispatch Scorpions quickly, or the player can opt to kill them one at a time with normal attacks.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Scorpions are predatory arachnids of the order Scorpiones. They have eight legs and are easily recognized by the pair of grasping pedipalps and the narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back, ending with a venomous stinger.
