Scale Mail, also known as Scale Armor (スケールアーマー, Sukēru Āmā?), is a recurring armor in the Final Fantasy series. It is generally a low-ranked armor that provides little to mediocre defenses.

Appearances

Final Fantasy XI

Scale Mail is body armor that provides 11 DEF. It can be equipped by level 10 Warrior, Red Mage, Paladin, Dark Knight, Beastmaster, Ranger, Samurai, Dragoon, and Blue Mage.

It can be bought for 2,007 - 2,341 gil from Victoire in Southern San d'Oria (K-8), Doggomehr in Northern San d'Oria (E-5), Brunhilde in Bastok Markets (F-10), Drozga in Port Windurst (H-7), Kamilah in Mhaura (F-9), and Ndego in Al Zahbi (H-9). It can also be bought for 60 Sparks of Eminence from Isakoth in Bastok Markets (E-11), Rolandienne in Southern San d'Oria (G-10), Fhelm Jobeizat in Windurst Woods (J-10), and Eternal Flame in Western Adoulin (H-11).

Final Fantasy XII

The Scale Armor is a low-ranked piece of heavy armor that provides +9 Defense, +3 Strength, and +3 Speed. In the original version, it can be bought for 1,000 gil at Rabanastre or Bhujerba, and requires the Heavy Armor 2 license for 25 LP.

In the Zodiac versions, it can bow be bought in Rabanastre, Bhujerba, and Dreadnought Leviathan and found as a treasure in Trial Mode Stage 16 with Diamond Armlet. It can be equipped by the Uhlan, Knight, Time Battlemage, and Foebreaker.

The Scale Armor is a mid to high-ranked armor that provides 15 Strength, 15 Intelligence, and -1 Agility.
