Sahagin Chief is an enemy in Final Fantasy X-2. It is a larger version of the Sahagin, thanks to the Cactuar's needles.

Battle[]
Sahagin Chief is weak to Lightning. An Alchemist with Item Lore using Lightning-elemental items helps, as do Black Mages and a Mascot with Black Magic or any captured creature with strong Lightning-elemental attacks, such as the Gold Elemental or Insect Matriarch. Sahagin Chiefs are of no particular threat and can easily be disposed of with attacks that induce Petrification.
Creature Creator[]
The Sahagin Chief has incredibly high Strength, Magic, and Agility, but below average Defense, low Magic Defense, and decent accuracy. Its Evasion and Luck are nearly nonexistent. It comes into the party having already learned Ailment Def. and Total Limit Break.
The Sahagin Chief is the fastest-growing L-sized creature, needing only 952,717 EXP to reach Level 99. By comparison, the slowest-growing L-sized creature is Paragon, who requires 1,379,134 EXP for Level 99, almost 45% more EXP than the Sahagin Chief for Level 99. Because of this, the player is advised to avoid having YRP's levels above 85 so they do not have to win the Farplane Cup four times with the Sahagin Chief.
Behind the scenes[]
In the HD Remaster, when the Sahagin Chief is recruited via Creature Creator, its name is misspelled as Shahagin Chief.
Etymology[]
Sahuagin are fishlike, monstrous humanoids that appear in the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.
