The Sage 賢者 is a Job class in Final Fantasy III. It is gained in Eureka in the original, while it is gained from the Earth Crystal in the DS and iOS versions. Sages are highly adept mages who have mastered all levels of the Black and White arts. While they have numerous techniques at their disposal, their MP is limited compared to those spell casters who are more specialized. The Sage is considered to be a powered-up version of the Red Mage job. However, it lacks the physical offense that is also signature of a Red Mage in exchange for focusing on Black and White arts.

The Sage has the ability to cast every magic in the game, as well as the high level Summon magic, making them a real threat. MP growth is higher than the Shaman, Warlock, and Summoner, so the Sage effectively makes those classes obsolete.

Sages are those who have gained knowledge in all schools of arcane arts. They can use all types of spells!

Description

The bearer of this certificate possesses incomparable knowledge of the world of magic and is deemed worthy of the title of Master Sage.

Mastery certificate description

The Sage is a job class in Final Fantasy III. It is gained in Eureka in the NES version, while it is gained from the Earth Crystal in the 3D versions. Sages are highly adept mages who have mastered all levels of Black, White, and Summon magic. While they have numerous techniques at their disposal, their MP is limited compared to those spell casters who are more specialized. The Sage is considered to be a powered-up version of the Red Mage job, but it lacks the physical offense signature of a Red Mage in exchange for focusing on magical arts.

Abilities

NES version

 • Special ability - White and Black Magic Levels 1 - 8, Summon

The Sage can cast every magic, as well as the high level Summon magic, making them a real threat. MP growth is higher than the Shaman, Warlock, and Summoner, so the Sage effectively makes those classes obsolete.

3D versions

 • Special Ability - White and Black Magic Levels 1 - 8, Summon (White or Black)

MP growth is limited, meaning they cannot use the high level magics as much as the Devout, Magus, or Summoner. Additionally, they are only capable of using the Evoker versions of Summon Magic.
