Template:FFXIII Enemies The Sacrifice is an enemy that appears in Final Fantasy XIII.

They are found in Edenhall and Orphan's Cradle. Debuffs work quite well on the Sacrifices and help to keep them under control, especially in larger groups. A Cherub's Crown or the upgraded Seraph's Crown can be equipped for protection from the Death spell these enemies can cast, although Death has a low chance of hitting. Player should be aware of Sacrifice's Anathema ability, which can inflict several status ailments.

Death deals quite a bit of damage, regardless of having the Shell buff on or not. This can be a threat to low-HP characters like Hope Estheim.

Aerora shouldn't be too much of a bother if you have the Vigilance buff casted as this will prevent you from getting knocked off your feet.

It's also best to have characters that know Fog, Fogga, Pain, and/or Painga. Vanille, Fang, and Snow, if he's reached Level 2 of the Saboteur role, are best fit for this situation.

It's even better to have an ever-so-great-yet-rare Ribbon at hand as it partially prevents status ailments against Deshell, Poison, Imperil, Slow, and Defaith.

Spoils

Sacrifices often drop Perfume, items which can be sold for 12,500 gil. These enemies rarely drop a Scarletite, an upgrade catalyst, but they are also useful for obtaining gil, selling for 7,000 gil each.

Sacrifices are a considerable source for obtaining gil in the game's end. They are easy to defeat in comparison to stronger enemies such as the Adamantoise. Sacrifices also appear in larger numbers, resulting in better drop chances.

Trivia

  • Sacrifices are similar in appearance to Cid Raines's Cie'th-human hybrid form (mainly due to their metallic, silver bodies, and long, black claws). This may be due to their mutual nature as Sanctum l'Cie that later became Cie'th.
  • It is the only enemy in the game that uses a Full ATB Skill - specifically, Death.
