Poison in Final Fantasy XIII is a Saboteur spell.

Saboteur (ジャマー, Jamā?, lit. Jammer), abbreviated as SAB, is a recurring job in the Final Fantasy series associated with the Command Synergy Battle system.


Final Fantasy XIII[]

Saboteur concentrates on debuffing and debilitating enemies. Fang and Vanille major in the role, where Fang focuses on debilitation and Vanille focuses on debuffing. Sazh can learn all single-target abilities, while Hope learns all area-of-effect abilities. Lightning learns all debuffing abilities, while Snow learns debilitation abilities.

Vanille's full ATB skill is the Saboteur ability, Death.

Cid Raines, in his boss fight, can access the Saboteur role, where he gains access to Poisonga, Deprotega, Deshellga and Dazega.

Final Fantasy XIII-2[]

Saboteur debuffs and debilitates enemies and additionally can reduce target's maximum HP with wounding attacks. However, debilitation abilities are now exclusive to Paradigm Pack monsters. Serah can learn all debuffing abilities and both Wound spells, while Noel can only learn single-target debuffing abilities and Wound. Saboteur monsters can also use physical-based abilities and Endless Nightmare. Lightning in the Lightning's Story: Requiem of the Goddess DLC scenario has a role based on the Saboteur called Sorcerer.

Vanille and Serah are able to use some of the abilities of Saboteur.


Saboteur is someone who commits sabotage. Sabotage is a deliberate action aimed at weakening a polity or corporation through subversion, obstruction, disruption or destruction.
