Edgar's younger twin brother and an heir to the throne of Figaro Castle. In a fateful coin toss over the crown, he wins his freedom and sets out to train under the seasoned martial artist Duncan. Years later, after reuniting with his brother, he vows to use his newfound strength to fight against the Empire and bring peace to the world.

Sabin is a playable character representing Final Fantasy VI in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia. He can be recruited during the Lost Chapter The Runaway Prince.

Sabin's appearance is based on elements of his Yoshitaka Amano artwork and Final Fantasy VI sprites. He wears a purple tank top belted with a purple sash, yellow sarouel pants, and green and brown boots. Sabin wears purple earrings, a bracelet on his right arm, and an armlet on his left arm in addition to his equipped claws.

While with Prishe and Bartz, Sabin eavesdrops on Quistis as Vivi and Eiko ask her to be their combat instructor. Sabin's group approaches them and all of them express a keen interest in studying under Quistis as well. She mentions that they would be welcome but that the instruction, because oriented towards Vivi and Eiko, would be at an elementary level only. Nevertheless, Quistis finds that the older students cannot conceptually keep up with Eiko; when Quistis quizzes Sabin on the dangers of a marlboro's bad breath attack, he demonstrates only a partial understanding of its status effects. Eiko scolds them for holding up the whole class, only to turn around to find that Vivi has fallen asleep. Sabin and Bartz take the opportunity to leave class early and take a nap. This effectively ends the lecture, leaving Quistis deeply ashamed of herself.

Sabin is on the deck of the airship with Celes and Cyan when Aerith arrives with a group of warriors and a wagon full of flowers in tow. The group goes to look at the displays she has arranged, and they all find flowers that are meaningful to them. Sabin, among the others, finds his favourite flowers from amongst the many. Aerith explains to all present that their wills created these flowers and imparted within them the desire that they be returned to them. To this, Vanille, who had also come to look, tells Aerith that this must explain why this experience makes her feel complete.

- The location of Sabin's event references the Phantom Forest.
- Mog calling Sabin a bear is a reference to Terra's first impression of Sabin as "one of Vargas's bears."
- Sabin declares the party will get "suplexed" when he attacks them, referencing the popularity of his Meteor Strike (or Suplex) Blitz being able to hit the Phantom Train.
- During "Wild Child of the Veldt", Sabin sates Gau's hunger with a slab of dried meat, the same way Gau is recruited to the troupe in their home world.
- Sabin is backed up by Eight and backs up Yda in Force Mode. All are based in the Monk or Pugilist class.
- Eight and Sabin are ascetic monks wholly devoted to their personal and spiritual enrichment when opportunity permits; and each uses his Phantom Rush as an ultimate move. Thus have they combined for the Double Phantom Rush.
