Refine status Recovery Medicine from an item
Description
ST Med-RF (status medicine refiner) is a menu ability in Final Fantasy VIII that allows the player to make basic status-healing items from other items. Though they are widely sold in shops, ST Med-RF can be used to easily replenish supplies when no shops are nearby, such as in the middle of dungeons.

The Guardian Force Siren learns ST Med-RF for 30 AP. Siren is drawn from Elvoret during Siege of Dollet, or from Tri-Point in the final dungeon. If the player removes ST Med-RF with Amnesia Greens, there is no way to get it back.
Mechanics[]
Using ST Med-RF in the Ability menu enables the player to make status-healing items up to the cap of 100 of a single item type.

ST Med-RF only makes basic status-healing items; to make Remedy+, the player needs Med LV Up from Alexander. Items to heal status are easily available from shops, but ST Med-RF can still be of situational usefulness. Progressing through the game with random encounters enabled often leaves the player with multiple powder-type items in their inventory whose only use is to be refined to either magic (ST Mag-RF) or status-healing items.
