Rydia (Record Keeper)

A girl from Mist, the village of the summoners, Rydia loses her mother when King Baron sets fire to her hometown. Though at first she mistrusts Cecil for his role in causing the disaster, she eventually warms to him.
Character profile.

Rydia joins the player party as a child in Final Fantasy Record Keeper. A standard character, Rydia is recruited as the First Time Reward for completing the Record of Fabul in the Realm of Final Fantasy IV on the Classic difficulty track. She has also appeared in The Burning Blade and Twin Stars of Mysidia, where in both events she is also easier to acquire. She can grow into her adult self with the Chosen of Feymarch Wardrobe Record, obtained during A Summoner Grown.

Rydia is the representative Black Mage and Summoner from her series, and as such has high magical stats throughout her progression, though not quite as high as a dedicated Black Mage like Vivi. Yet her Memory Crystal is located in his realm and is one of the more difficult items to obtain. Still, given her early acquirement, she may serve any party well for a long time.

Abilities[]

Rydia has access to Black Magic abilities up to rarity rank 5, White Magic abilities up to rarity rank 2, Summoning abilities up to rarity rank 5, and Witch abilities up to rarity rank 4.

Her default Soul Break is Summon Eidolon I, which calls a chocobo to deal non-elemental damage to one target at the cost of one Soul Gauge segment. The Ice Whip (IV) grants her Summon Eidolon II, which calls Shiva to deal ice-elemental damage to all targets at the cost of one Soul Gauge segment.

Breaking Rydia's initial level cap grants her the Record Materia Eidolon's Gift, which casts Shell once when Rydia is HP Critical.
