Runic Temples are important landmarks in Mobius Final Fantasy. They are found throughout the world of Palamecia.
Overview[]
Based on sparse information provided throughout the story, Runic Temples serve as transport conduits between major regions of the planet, and are powered by the rune crystals located within them. In a sense, the conduits operate similarly to the ones through which Blanks are carried, moving the user from point to point over a given period of time.
The rune crystals also serve as communications devices, allowing two parties to talk from remote locations.
Etymology[]
Runes are the letters in a set of related alphabets known as runic alphabets, which were used to write various Germanic languages before the adoption of the Latin alphabet and for specialized purposes thereafter. Historic anthropology regarding the Germanic and Norse peoples that used runes also note that the language was also highly used in magical practices related to these cultures, whether it be in divination, enchantment, and incantation.
