Stats Edit

Battle Edit

It has a chance to use Beak to inflict Petrify on its third turn, making it particularly dangerous when Celes is fighting them on her own. They counter magic attacks with Shamshir to halve the HP of the party member that damaged them.

Blizzara attacks are highly effective against them.

Etymology Edit

A roc or ruk (from the Arabic and Persian رخ rokh, asserted by Louis Charles Casartelli to be an abbreviated form of Persian simurgh) is an enormous legendary bird of prey, often said to be white.

The osprey is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range. It is a medium raptor, reaching more than 60 cm (24 in) in length and 180 cm (71 in) across the wings.
