Rukh (ルク, Ruku?; or ルフ, Rufu?; or ルドラ, Rudora?), also known as Osprey, Roc, and Rudra, is a recurring enemy in the series.
Appearances
Final Fantasy III
Rukh appears as an enemy fought on Dragon's Peak. They are weak to wind and have a chance to petrify when attacking the party.
Final Fantasy IV
Rukh appears as an enemy on the overworld, near Eblan and Agart. It attacks twice per turn.
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-
Rukh appears as an enemy on the overworld, near Eblan.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Rukh appears as an enemy fought in Mysidia, Mythril, and Agart.
Final Fantasy V
Rukh appears as an enemy fought in the lake near Crescent and Fork Tower. They are often accompanied by two Sea Devils and can use Zombie Breath to turn two random party members into zombies.
Final Fantasy VI
Rukh appears as an enemy fought in the World of Ruin near Albrook and Tzen. They are weak to ice, but can counter magic attacks with Shamshir, which will halve the target's HP. They also have a chance to use Beak on their third turn, which may petrify a party member.
Final Fantasy X-2
Rukh appears as an enemy fought on Djose Highroad, Mt. Gagazet, and floors 50-59 of Via Infinito. They are always encountered alone and can petrify party members. In Oversoul, they have the strength to take up to 75% of a party member's HP in a single blow.
Final Fantasy Dimensions
Rukh is an enemy fought on the world map near Rusalka, Aulë, and Mt. Falgabard. It attacks twice per turn and can hit all party members at once with Blight Wing. It is weak to wind.
Final Fantasy Dimensions II
Rukh is a water-elemental Eidolon available to Jornee as one of her default summons. He teaches her Blizzara abilities and uses the Ice Age attack when summoned.
Bravely Default
It is said that all who catch this monstrous bird's sharp eyes can only pray for a swift death. Its <Tornado> attack strikes at all its foes with whirling blades of air.

Etymology
roc or ruk (from the Arabic and Persian رخ rokh, asserted by Louis Charles Casartelli to be an abbreviated form of Persian simurgh) is an enormous legendary bird of prey, often said to be white.
ARudra is a Rigvedic deity, associated with wind or storm, and the hunt. The name has been translated as "the roarer". In the Rigveda, Rudra has been praised as the "mightiest of the mighty".
