Ruin (ルイン, Ruin?) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It has a stronger area-of-effect version called Ruinga. Unlike most offensive spells, Ruin first explodes on enemy contact, but then implodes.

Description
Ruin is a Commando spell that deals non-elemental magic damage to a target. It has an ATB cost of 1 and an Attack Power of 1.0. It is learned by Lightning (Stage 1), Sazh (Stage 3), Snow (Stage 1), Vanille (Stage 7), Hope (Stage 7), and Fang (Stage 5).
It is also an enemy ability used by Cid Raines and Strigoi.
Final Fantasy XIII-2[]
Ruin is a Commando spell that deals non-elemental magic damage to the target. It has an ATB cost of 1 and a modifier of 1.1. It can be learned by Serah (role level 2), Noel (role level 2), and all Commando monsters (level 1). When Paradigm Pack Sentinels perform counterattack abilities on enemies out of reach of their Attack animation, they will cast Ruin instead.
Ruin is also a Paladin ability for Lightning in the "Requiem of the Goddess" downloadable content scenario. It is learned at level 1 and has an ATB cost of 1. It deals non-elemental magic damage to the target.
It is also an enemy ability used by Cactuaroni, Lightning, Meonekton, Mimi, and Red Chocobo.

Description
Ruin is a non-elemental magic spell. It has an ATB Cost of 10, Multiplier of 0.45, Stagger Power of E, Stagger Time of C, and a Combo of 5.
It drops from Meonektons, and is a locked ability on Loyal Servant (LV 3), La Fouldre (LV 4), and School's Out (LV 5) garbs. It can also be found from treasures.
It is used by Fang when she is in Lightning's party as a guest.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
Ruin is an Arcanist ability available at level 1. The ability deals unaspected damage with a potency of 240 to a single enemy and has a cast time of 1.5 seconds and recast time of 2.5 seconds.
The Summoner trait Ruin Mastery permanently upgrades Ruin to Ruin II, with Ruin Mastery II further upgrading it to Ruin III. Ruin IV is a separate ability gained at level 62 along with the Enhanced Energy Siphon trait, granting one use of Ruin IV for one minute upon executing either Energy Drain or Energy Siphon.
Final Fantasy XVI[]
Ruin is a spell used when Clive is attuned to Ultima's powers. It can be charged to use the more powerful Ruinra.
Final Fantasy Dimensions II[]
Ruin I-III are magic attacks available only for Morrow to use. The spells can only be learned from the default Cait Sith signet. All Ruin spells deal small non-elemental magic damage to an enemy and cost 8 MP to use.
In the original free-to-play versions, Ruin I-III could be used by any party member equipped with a Ruin version of the Moogle signet. Each version of the spell dealt more damage depending on the summon's rank and had increased MP costs.
Additionally, two more unique versions of Ruin appear usable by Morrow. Rapid Ruin I-III are variants of Ruin taught from the Dad Bomb signet, which deals small non-elemental magic damage to a single enemy and hastens the user's next turn. All versions of the spell costs 32 MP to use. Lastly, Ruin Rush I-III are the strongest Ruin-type spells that deal non-elemental magic damage to a single enemy six times. The spells are taught from the Twintania signet and cost 64 MP to cast.
Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]
Ruin is a midair Bravery attack for Lightning, usable in the Commando role. It is learned at level 6 and costs 20 CP to equip (10 CP when mastered) and requires 80 AP to master. It is a ranged low magical attack which may initiate the Chase sequence.
