Suit worn by women.
Description
The Rubber Suit is an endgame light armor piece in Final Fantasy IX for female characters. The Rubber Suit teaches Esuna, a White Magic spells for healing status abnormalities, and Eye 4 Eye that improves Counter. It nullifies Thunder damage to the wearer.
Obtain[]
The Rubber Suit is stolen from the Earth Guardian when Zidane and Quina venture into the Earth Shrine.
It is synthesized in Black Mage Village after the events in Pandemonium for 20,000 gil, Minerva's Plate, and Egoist's Armlet. Minerva's Plate and Egoist's Armlet can be bought from Daguerreo.
Mechanics[]
The Rubber Suit provides 39 Defense and 1 Magic Defense, mainly mitigating damage from physical attacks. It also gives Evasion +2 and Magic Evasion +3. Wearing it nullifies Thunder damage.
Use[]
The Rubber Suit is a good light body armor for the endgame, though Dagger and Eiko may prefer high level robes and Freya may prefer a high level heavy armor. It has good defensive stats and the Thunder-nullification may be useful for Grand Dragons, one of the bosses atop Pandemonium, Chimera in the final dungeon, and the final boss.
The abilities from the Rubber Suit are useful to have mastered, but the party likely has already done so from previous equipment.
Beatrix can also wear the Rubber Suit though the player cannot equip them with it in a normal playthrough.
