Role actions are abilities in Final Fantasy XIV. Introduced in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, they become available to players based on their current discipline's role rather than the discipline itself. They contain certain abilities considered to be essential for each role to perform effectively, replacing the cross-class additional actions that required players to level multiple classes to unlock essential abilities. Role actions are not disabled during level-synced content.

The abilities available as role actions are determined by the player's current role, with disciplines divided into roles as seen on the table below. Some role actions are shared between different roles.
