Unleash a gutteral roar to inflict enemies with Stop

Roar (咆哮, Hōkō?), also known as Primal Roar, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy XI[]

Roar is an enemy ability that paralyzes targets in an area of effect. It is used by the Tiger family.

Final Fantasy XIII[]

Roar is an enemy ability that deals massive physical damage and inflicts Daze on the whole party. It can be used by Adamantoise, Adamantortoise, and Long Gui.

Final Fantasy XIII-2[]

Roar is an enemy ability used by Long Gui, Luminous Puma, and Ugallu. When used by Long Gui, it deals massive physical damage and inflicts Daze and wound damage on all targets and removes status enhancements while removing status ailments from self and forelegs. It grants Bravery when used by Luminous Puma, as well as Haste, Faith, Protect, Shell, and Veil when used by Ugallu.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[]

Roar is a Blue Magick spell that costs 8 MP to cast. It removes all buffs from all characters on the battlefield, and it can be learned from most monsters of the Werewolf species.

Final Fantasy Type-0[]

Primal Roar is an ability for Nine that requires 3 AP and is available after learning Whirling Lance: AG ↓. Nine unleashes a gutteral roar to inflict enemies with Stop.

Primal Roar: Time ↑ requires 4 AP and is available after learning Primal Roar. Primal Roar remains active for a longer time. Primal Roar: AG ↓ requires 6 AP and is available after learning Primal Roar. It reduces the AG cost of Primal Roar.

Description

Roar is the level 16 ability of the Dragoon class, requiring 420 AP to learn. At the cost of 19 MP, the user will attempt to inflict Stun on all enemies.
