Ripe Rampager is a Rare Game enemy in Final Fantasy XII. It appears in the Dalmasca Estersand, and is one of the weakest rare enemies. Its size is thrice that of a Mandragora. It is also an optional spawn in the Zodiac versions' Trial Mode Stage 3, appearing by approaching the cactus on lower ground, farthest from the starting point. In the Trial Mode, it yields some good items: Elixir (very rare drop), Bronze Shield (common steal), Gauntlets (uncommon steal) and Round Shield (rare steal).
The Ripe Rampager offers early access to the Screamroot loot, which unlocks the Potion Crate at the bazaar once three have been sold. It also accesses the Ame-no-Murakumo, but this requires other loot items not available until later. It rarely drops the Calot Hat.
Bestiary entry
Edit
Derivation: Mandragora
Mandragora adapted over many generations to life in the harsh desert. This strain, as yet unrecorded in the Camp annals, is hunted in the Dalmasca Estersand.

Map of spawn points for Ripe Rampager and Cactites. |
The player must defeat Cactites in Yardang Labyrinth and look in the southwestern cul-de-sac just right of the exit to the Outpost. Each Cactite killed has a 33% chance of spawning the Ripe Rampager. An easy way to trigger it is to save at the nearby Nalbina Fortress, kill all three Cactites in Yardang and soft-reset if the Rampager fails to spawn.
