Use[]

Revival materia grants two tiers of revival spells. The base spell, Raise, revives a party member at partial HP, while Arise fully revives them, giving it a higher MP cost but making it more ATB-efficient. The materia can be crucial to have on at least one party member in most fights due to its ability to turn around a battle.

The materia provides good boosts to magic-based attributes in addition to its spells. This can mean it slightly benefits party members built toward spellcasting, but these attributes are irrelevant to the strength of Arise in particular and as such it can simply be given to anyone, especially those with the MP pool available.

Two Support Materia Support Materia can greatly improve the materia. The Swiftcast Materia Swiftcast Materia can alleviate the long cast times of Arise, making parties much safer as the caster is less likely to be interrupted or killed while casting the spell. Magic Efficiency Materia Magic Efficiency Materia is another great choice as it can reduce the spell's cost, something that can be very important especially on party members with a lower MP pool.

As an alternative to the revival materia, Reraise Materia Reraise Materia also exists. This grants the spell Reraise Reraise that will instantly revive a party member after KO. However, it is more of a precautionary spell than a reactive one, meaning revival materia maintains value.

Because Arise takes so much AP to learn, it may be worth pairing the revival materia with AP Up Materia AP Up Materia.
