Knock enemies into the air or bring them crashing down with a wind-aspected attack. Launches enemies toward you. Can use while airborne.
Description
Reverse Gale is a weapon ability for Tifa in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, provided to her by the Sylph Gloves. Tifa knocks enemies into the air (or brings them to the ground when airborne) with a wind attack, launching enemies toward her in the process. The ability deals Wind-based damage from an area of effect.
Obtained[]
Reverse Gale is provided by the sylph gloves, and learned permanently by using it with the gloves equipped.
Use[]
Reverse Gale provides two main functions for Tifa: it is a cheap way to deal wind-based damage to enemies weak to the element (making it a great alternative to casting Aero), and a way to drag enemies toward her. The latter can make it useful in several combos. When used on the ground, she will knock enemies into the air, while when used while airborne, she will slam them to the ground instead.
If used to launch enemies into the air, she can then follow up by launching herself into the air with Soaring Fury or Heavenly Ascent, at which point she can use attacks aerially and attacks such as Focused Strike to continue to juggle them in the air, rendering them unable to fight back while she attacks them.
Alternatively, if used while in the air to slam them to the ground, it can be a great setup for other area-of-effect ground attacks, such as Divekick.
Early on, the ability will primarily be used to target enemies weak to wind. Despite being wind-elemental, it is not a magic attack, unlike Chi Trap.
