Revenant is a fiend type in Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 characterized as being ghosts. They tend to inhabit long-forgotten areas, such as the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, the Omega Ruins, and other areas such as the Farplane. Their signature attack is Doom, which puts a countdown on its target that kills the target when the counter expires. In Final Fantasy X-2 Revenants cannot Oversoul.
Etymology
Revenants are animated corpses or ghosts in Western folklore that are said to return from the dead to terrorize the living. The word "revenant" is French (Fr. revenir, "to return") and means "one who returns".
