Restorative is an element in Final Fantasy VII. This element is generally tagged to any item or ability that either restores HP, MP, or both. Restorative is referred to as "Restorative magic" when using Sense on the enemy if they are affected by it. Absorbing the element will instead do damage on the enemy, a trait which many of the undead enemies have. A special curative element, it is unique among the magical elements in that no Materia has it as an element, including Restore. Restorative as an element cannot be resisted, but it is impacted by MBarrier status like any other damage, which reduces healing damage as well as normal damage. The Ziedrich, notable for protecting against nearly all damage types, does not reduce Restorative damage.
