Resist Status is a family of job traits available in Final Fantasy XI. Each one is available to a different job with a few being shared between two or three jobs. Not all jobs have such a job trait, but those that do have only one particular strength in resisting status ailments. These benefits also help the player if they are using a job as a Support Job if they have the appropriate level.
These abilities are listed as Resist Silence in the case of a Bard, with the particular status effect that can be resisted listed after the name. In the case of a Bard, this means that casting Silence on a bard will have a lesser likelihood of being successful and that if it is successful, it will likely not last as long on the bard.
Levels of Resistance[]
As a player increases in level the strength of their resist status effect will become more powerful. In the above example for a Bard, what starts as a level 5 ability is upgraded again at level 25, commonly noted as Resist Silence II, then at 45 for Resist Silence III, and finally resist status IV at level 65.
