The Remora is an enemy from Final Fantasy III. It is a missable enemy for the Bestiary as it can only be encountered in the second and fourth areas of Lake Dohr. This dungeon becomes an unrevisitable location once Leviathan is defeated and the player leaves the area. It is not a very powerful enemy otherwise, and can be defeated with a single casting of Thundara or Thundaga.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The remora is a small species of fish, often found in association with sharks. It possesses a sucker-like disc, which it uses to attach itself onto other fish, so as to gain protection and easy food. In Latin, remora means "delay."
