Regen (リジェネ, Rijene?) is a recurring spell in the Final Fantasy series. It bestows a party member with Regen status, causing the target to incrementally gain small amounts of HP over time.
A similar effect to Regen in the Lightning Saga games is with Mediguard, which gradually restores health to the user as long as they guard.

Regen is a level 1 Time Magic spell that targets a single character. It costs 3 MP to cast, and is bought for 100 gil at Walse, Istory, and Karnak. Regen can be cast by Calofisteri, Chrono Controller, Enuo, Magissa, and Omniscient.
Final Fantasy VI[]
Regen is a Healing spell learned from Kirin and Lakshmi. Kirin's ability Holy Aura also casts Regen on the entire party. It costs 10 MP to cast and is vulnerable to Runic. Regen can be cast by Level 60 Magic and Cherry.
Final Fantasy VII[]
Regen is the level 3 spell on the Restore Materia. It is more powerful than Cure 2, allowing the player to regenerate HP constantly instead of a set interval. An exploit for the PlayStation version involves lifting up the disc cover, allowing the player to restore all their HP while the enemy cannot move. It costs 30 MP to cast.
The Regen ability is only used by the optional boss Gorkii. Regen does not damage undead like the other cure spells.
Final Fantasy VII Remake[]
Regen is the third ability of Healing Materia, which slowly restores HP over time and restores a moderate amount of HP on the initial casting to one party member. It costs 6 MP to cast.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth[]
Regen returns as a spell. It is provided by Healing Materia at its third level. The spell restores 10% of the target's HP, and then applies the Regen for three minutes, which gradually restores their HP over time by 1% every two seconds. Regen costs 6 MP and 1 ATB segment to cast.
Regen is also used by Two Face.

Regen is a magic materia that grants Regen status to Zack. It costs 7 MP to cast. It can be bought at The Happy Turtle shop for 5,000 gil or made via Materia Fusion.
Final Fantasy VIII[]
Regen can be drawn from various enemies or draw points and cast on allies or junctioned to stats. Regen can be used to slowly damage the undead. Blood Soul uses the spell against the party after casting Zombie on them.
Casting Regen in battle increases compatibility with Carbuncle and Alexander by 0.2, but lowers compatibility with Eden by 0.2 as well.
Final Fantasy IX[]
Regen is a White Magic spell learned by Eiko. It costs 14 MP to cast and 25 AP to master, and can be learned through Fairy Flute and Fairy Earrings. It can be reflected and works with Return Magic.
Final Fantasy X[]
Regen is a White Magic spell found in Yuna's section of the Sphere Grid. It costs 40 MP to cast. Regen can be cast by Cindy, Jumbo Flan, Sanctuary Keeper, Th'uban, and Yunalesca in her last two forms.
Final Fantasy X-2[]
Regen is a White Magic spell that can be learned for 80 AP for the White Mage after learning Curaga. It costs 40 MP to cast. It can also be accessed through the Garment Grid Wishbringer. Regen can be cast by ????, Baralai (Pyrefly form), Black Elemental (Oversoul), Blue Elemental (Oversoul), Cindy, Dark Elemental (Oversoul), Gold Elemental (Oversoul), Node A, Node B, Node C (parts of Vegnagun's leg), and Right Bulwark.
Moogle Regenja is exclusive to Yuna's Mascot dressphere. It casts Haste and Regen on the party. It costs 24 MP to cast, and can be learned for 40 AP.
Final Fantasy XI[]
Regen is a spell that is available to Red Mages (level 21), White Mages (level 21), Scholars (level 18), and Rune Fencers (level 23). It is available to any job with the aforementioned as support jobs.
The spell regenerates 5 HP every three seconds (commonly known as a tick). It will restore 125 HP over its 60 second duration.
Final Fantasy XII[]
Regen bestows the status of the same name to one target that makes them accumulate HP over time, and can be used to counter the Sap status effect.
In the original version, Regen is available on White Magick 4 license for 35 LP, first bought from Dyce for 1900 gil after defeating the second Demon Wall in the Tomb of Raithwall. The spell uses 16 MP to cast.
In the Zodiac versions, Regen's license is White Magick 6, available in Giza Plains in the Nomad Village when it rains, and also from Tchita Uplands later on. Regen can be used by three job classes: White Mage, Red Battlemage, and Knight, although Knights must acquire the Esper Mateus license first.

Description
Regen appeared in the original Final Fantasy XIV after the release of Patch 1.21. It was a White Mage spell learned by completing the "When Sheep Attack" quest, first available when reaching level 35 on White Mage.
Regen returns as a White Mage spell, granting healing over time to a target for 18 seconds. It can be recast every 2.50 seconds, has a range of 30y and a cure potency of 200, or 250 with the Enhanced Healing Magic trait.

Regen is learned by the White Mage class for 350 JP. It costs 8 MP to use and has a speed of 25. Regen can be used to counter the Poison status effect and vice versa. Regen does not work on the undead.

Regen is a level 10 Enhancing Spell ability, exclusive to the White Mage class, and caps at level 100. It slowly restores HP of one ally over a period of time, can be used once per battle, and up to five times a day.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy[]
Regen comes in three levels of power. During a stage, Regen activates each time the player gets Good or better on a Trigger and restores a set amount of HP, the amount healed increasing depending on the level of power. Minwu, Rydia and Ashe can learn all three levels of Regen, while Onion Knight and Prishe learn the first two levels and Shantotto learns only the first level.

Regen appears in Chain of Memories and its remake Re:Chain of Memories as the ability of the Oogie Boogie card, in Birth By Sleep as an ability of the Cinderella D-Link, and Re:coded as an ability attached to several Keyblades. Regen gradually recovers Sora's HP, though in Chain of Memories and Re:Chain of Memories it has limited duration. Though Regen does not appear in 358/2 Days, Cura has the same effect of gradually healing Roxas. In Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 a "regen" effect is granted by the Tinker Bell and Peter Pan summons respectively, granting a healing over time effect on Sora, similarly other summons like Stitch and Chicken Little in Kingdom Hearts 2 also have the ability of healing Sora overtime, however they don't have the same healing potency as Tinker Bell.

Regen, also known as Regeneration, is a recurring spell in the Bravely series.
Regen appears in both the original Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer as a Time Magic spell. The spell is a level 1 Time Magic in the first game, while being upgraded to a level 2 Time Magic in Bravely Second. It restores 3% of one target's HP at the end of each turn, while dealing 3% damage to undead enemies each turn.
In Bravely Default II, the spell was mistranslated as Regeneration, and was changed to a Spirit Magic spell. It can only be learned at job level 4 for the Spiritmaster job. When used, it will restore 10% of a target’s HP at the end of their turn. When used on undead enemies, the spell will instead deal 10% damage at the end of each turn.
